Trainer Phil Kirby is now anticipating seeing his two celebrities Best Ville Ben along with Lady Buttons kick off their various attempts on Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.
Leading Ville Ben is already a winner over fences in the West Yorkshire circuit and has been aimed itself, using rounded off his novice campaign with an attempt to finish third behind Lostintranslation and Topofthegame at Aintree.
The admirable Lady Buttons has won 12 races for Kirby and is set to bidding for a fourth victory in Wetherby from the OLBG.com Mares’ Hurdle – a race she won last year and finished second in behind La Bague Au Roi at 2017.
Kirby told Sky Sports Racing:”They are both doing tons of cantering. They haven’t done any work that was speedy however they would not be a million miles off. They look well and theyboth’ll be directed at the Charlie Hall meeting.
“Best Ville Ben will run at the Charlie Hall and Lady Buttons will won in the final race she won last year. Everything has gone perfectly to plan so far, we have just got to keep it that way.
“Buttons can perform a very similar thing to last season – she will start off at Wetherby, then perhaps go to Newbury and go to Doncaster for those Listed races and the significant prize-money. We’ll see where we end up at the season’s end.
“For Best Ville, the plan was always to go to the Charlie Hall to begin with. We’ll see how he has on, but if he is competitive, he can always go to Newbury for the Hennessy (Ladbrokes Trophy).”
